Writing.
Gareth is an award-winning song, sketch and script writer.
He wrote the music and lyrics to a West End musical, "The Hunting of the Snark", which not only performed at the West End's Vaudeville Theatre, but toured the UK, Hong Kong and Australia, finishing its run at the iconic Sydney Opera House. He has also co-adapted several best-selling children's stories for theatre - "The Worst Princess" with Full House (which toured the UK in 2023 and is currently booking in another tour for 2025) and "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch", for a 2017 tour with Pied Piper Theatre Company.
He also spent five years writing sketches and songs with Sam Champion, Caroline May-Jones and Daniel Cook - otherwise known as critically-acclaimed, award-winning sketch group, Delete the Banjax. Since Banjax went their separate ways, Gareth has found himself involved with a wide variety of projects - writing award-winning musical comedy, scripts and songs for various theatre shows, and songs for YouTube channels.
Gareth has written and released an album of comedy songs, called, er, "Comedy Songs", and a live album of his 2015 show, "Mishmash" - both can be streamed on Spotify here.
He also gets regular commissions, such as writing 16 bespoke songs for Thomas & Friends (check his favourite out here), writing songs for Avva Laff's production, "The Grimmest of Grimm Fairytales", and writing a whole host of songs and lyrics for Moonbug's YouTube channel.
In 2021, Gareth graduated from the University of Reading with an MA in Creative Enterprise, which involved a pretty wide variety of writing challenges - law essays, digital theatre pieces, entrepreneurial pitches and festival planning documents, to name a few. His final piece was an adaptation of a classic Cornish folktale, which he moulded into a one-man storytelling show called "The Mermaid of Padstow", which is currently touring the South West.
If you've got a writing project (be it song, script or sketch) and you'd like to chat to Gareth about it, you can either contact his agent, Rachel, at BCCreative, or drop him an email directly.
